Interview with Ralph Nader

On September 24, Ralph Nader (the presidential candidate for the Green Party) delivered a spectacular speech to Carnegie Mellon students. Readme was able to secure a short interview with him after the lecture.

Guido: I know you're tired, and losing your voice and on the verge of passing out. So I'll try not to take much of your time. Is this the first time you've ever been interviewed by someone with bright orange dyed hair?

Nader: I have to say, it is pretty unusual. Is it organic dye?

G: What?

N: Is it organic dye?

G: Uhhh... organic... how? What do you mean?

N: You know, dye made from plants or organic compounds -

G: Oh. No, I guess its not.

N: Oh, it should be, its the least you could do for the environment.

G: Whoa... I never thought of it that way. This is crazy. I'm getting hair dying tips from a presidential candidate.

N: I ran into one of your green-haired counterparts at a rally in California once, and she assured me that she used organic dyes to protect the environment.

G: Well I'll certainly look into it then. Thanks. What else do you think the student's role in changing the world should be? What else can we do, other than vote, which is a given?

N: There's a lot. Join some of the pirg groups, Masspirg, Calpirg, any of them. There's lots to do, we really need people working full time on a lot of these issues. There's lots of jobs. There's lots of groups to join, you can join the Green Party, get involved in government. And Universities should be used to build better citizens, not as trade schools.

At this point, Mr. Nader was forced to leave due to time constraints. The rest of the interview was conducted with a sausage.

G: How do you feel about your chances for election, given that George Bush is a useless puppet and Al Gore an idiot who claims he invented the internet?

Sausage: -silence-

G: What's your favorite kind of cheese?

S: -silence-

G: What's your shoe size?

S: -silence-

G: If elected, what country would you drop a nuke on first?

S: France.

G: Thanks for your time.
