CMR 65 "Tessa" - 2002

CMR's first formula car, CMR65 also named Tessa by sponsor Chip Ganassi, had some teething issues, but still made a respectable showing at Formula SAE 2002. Our design score was respectable for a rookie team and were impressed with Tessa's power out put. We made 53 hp at the wheels from our '87 Honda CBR 600 (F1) engine.

Formula 2002 was an incredible learning experience for the team. The excitiment generated during the first generated the enthusasim necessary to solidify Carnegie Mellon University's participation in Formula SAE for many years to come.
