635 Centre St., previously at 406 Centre - Tailoring, dry cleaning,
same
day pressing service, tuxedo rental (1952 ad) (for 3 years 635 was the
site of Ashman's Appliance, proprietor Ron Ashman, thanks to Charlie
Gallagher for that info)
Corrigan Dry Cleaning -
827 Main St., office at 607 Centre St. (Patrick J. Corrigan,
proprietor) Dry cleaning & dyeing; French cleaning; also family
washings; washing lace curtains a specialty (1922 ad from Ed Merrick;
1924 ads) - later at 612
Front St., agent, dry cleaning (age
50 in 1940 Census, from Ed Merrick) Eldora's Dry Cleaners - 633 Centre St. (Eldora Danko, proprietor)
Freeland Laundermat - 501 Centre St. (John Yagalla, proprietor) - This correction comes from Colleen Yagalla: The family ran a self-service laundromat, a family owned and operated dry cleaning business along with an antique/collectable shop on the premises.
I had previously mistakenly posted that this business included self-service dry cleaning. Thank you, Colleen, and my apologies to the Yagalla family for the incorrect information, and thanks for the correction.

Lee, Charles – 430 Centre
This photo came from John Zubach and shows people walking past Charles Lee's laundry, which was next to a saloon owned by Stefan _________ (can't read the last name). By the time the 1928-1929 directory was published, this laundry was no longer listed. So Charles Lee might have been the last of the proprietors of Chinese laundries in Freeland that went back at least to 1889.
