Odyssey of the Mind

Welcome to Odyssey of the Mind 2012!

This fair aims to spark interest in the fields of math, science, and engineering for students in grades 5-8. We hope to expose students to new ideas, experiences, and opportunities, by exploring these growing fields of study in an exciting and age-appropriate way.

Students will have the opportunity to engage in hands-on science experiments, watch demonstrations in a variety of related fields, and apply their knowledge in competitive events. Students can expect to see demonstrations in fields from robotics to astronomy to mathematics, with plenty in between. We hope participants will come away with valuable new knowledge from face-to-face interactions with Carnegie Mellon students, and sharpen their mathematical and logic skills in the form of competitive events with their peers.

The Carnegie Mellon community is extremely excited to be hosting the event and welcomes all local students to participate. Odyssey of the Mind 2012 is a collaborative effort among a wide range of clubs, groups, professors, and others who hope to excite interest in these fields among young students here at Carnegie Mellon. We thank you for taking the time to learn more about the event, and invite you to keep exploring our website to learn more and register to participate today!
