Odyssey of the Mind – About the Fair

Get ready to experience the excitement of math, science, and engineering! Here are just a few of the activities that may be part of this year's event:

Oobleck Monsters

Watch semi-solid liquid come alive! Learn about the properties of solids and liquids while experimenting with a unique, quicksand–like solution that is sure to please.

Building to the Sky

Use odd materials to construct a mini skyscraper! Develop practical engineering skills in this fun competition for the best build.

Layered Liquids

Learn about the science and properties of liquids as you conduct an exciting and colorful experiment you can take home!

Spy Practice

Use invisible inks to create secret messages while learning about the chemical properties of liquids you may not have used before.

Odyssey of the Mind is a project created through the 2012 Emerging Leaders Program at CMU. The Emerging Leaders program, sponsored by the Carnegie Mellon Office of Student Life, is a leadership development series for first-year students culminating in the organization of service projects in small team settings.
