Finally! A good Greek tavern
without the trek to Astoria

Straightforward Greek cuisine such as seafood and lamb. Perfectly authentic and definitely a no-frills type of place, Kiki's is a definitely a favorite of mine. Don't hesitate to eat the grilled octopus and lemon potatoes.

Excellent, cheap, responsibly sourced

Food is the cheapest way to travel the world, and this place really takes you there. I make a point to head to Prospect Park everytime I'm in New York just to get a bite of some of these dumplings.

well-loved local restaurant

Orinigally a well-kept secret amongst the Thai community in Queens, this place probably has some of the tastiest Thai food in NYC if memory serves... They've got a really lovely green mango salad.

Located not too far from Sripraphai in Jackson Heights, this place has some wildly delicious French pastries made with locally sourced ingredients. Anything from there is money well-spent.
