Sruti Bapatla

I am currently an undergrad at Carnegie Mellon University in the Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, and Double Bass Performance Departments. I am working under Prof. Taylor to develop Mechanics I:2D Design to include a short design project exploring four bar linkages and cams.

Previous Experience

Manufacturing Engineering Intern -- Smith and Nephew (May 2023 - Aug 2023)

• Programmed new vision machines for final inspection of knee and hip implants before packaging
• Evaluated defects on implants and determined repair plans
• Created work instructions and trained operator on new vision machines

R&D Intern -- Caterpillar (May 2022 - Aug 2022)

• Created scripts using DIAdem to analyze and visualize engine data to better advertise engines to customers
• Automated and ran daily tests on dual-fuel engine to check engine health and diagnose turbine efficiency issues
• Analyzed backlogged data and discovered multiple trends, to help future employees diagnose problems with engines
