I'm interested in The Triple Helix. How can I get involved?
We appreciate your interest in our journal! There are many ways you can get involved. You can participate in writing, editing, advertising, organizing science outreach events, and/or finance.

If you are interested in any of the areas listed, please e-mail us at cmu@thetriplehelix.org indicating that interest. If you are not sure what you are interested in doing, or you are interested in something other than what was listed, please let us know and we can help you get involved with our journal.

What is the time commitment?
Depends on you, and what you want to be involved in. If you're a writer, you can choose to write frequent shorter articles for e-publishing, or you can choose to write one longer and more developed article each semester for our journal. If you're an editor, you have the option to work with our EiC to decide how many articles you might be able to handle in a given semester. Alternately, if you're interested in science outreach, you will most likely be going to regular brainstorming meetings and become the most invovled during our events - about once or twice a semester. Of course, if you'd like to be more invovled you can help out with more than one division. In short - for Triple Helix, you get to decide what time commitment you can manage. We'll work with you to find you a position that will work for you.

When is your next meeting?
We will rarely have general body meetings with all of our members during each semester. Instead, we will mostly have “departmental” meetings, such as writers and editors meetings, marketing meetings, science outreach meetings, and so forth. These departmental meetings will occur based on our production and event schedules, i.e. writers will be meeting at the beginning of each semester while science outreach staff meet before our planned events.

With that said, please check our homepage for the time, location, date and purpose of our next meeting. If it is not listed, or if you have questions, please e-mail us at cmu@thetriplehelix.org.

What leadership positions are available?
Available leadership positions will be announced at general body meetings and posted on our home page or the join-us tab above. If you are subscribed to our e-mail list, you can also look our for e-mails about new opportunities.

We want to make clear, however, that leadership positions will go to our most dedicated members. In some circumstances, we will even create positions so that we can accommodate our most committed members. Our goal is to involve as many people as possible in the production of our journal and the day-to-day decision making process. The availability of leadership positions really depends on you and your involvement.

Can I submit an article if I am not a member?
Absolutely! Just let us know you're interested by emailing us at cmu@thetriplehelix.org and we'll let you know how you can get published.

What types of articles will be included in the journal?
The Triple Helix journal is a "Science in Society Review." We like to see developed articles about new scientific advancements or law and policy changes and how that affects society. If you have an idea, but aren't sure if it fits - let us know and we'll get you set up with an editor who can help you formulate a strong article.
