Q: Why should I join CMU's Racquetball Club? What's in it for me?
A: There are many reasons why you should join CMU's Racquetball Club. If you are:
  • a beginner who wants to learn how to play
  • a racquetball enthusiast
  • someone who wants to take his or her game to the next level
  • someone who wants to meet and get to know other racquetball players at CMU and in the Pittsburgh area
  • ...etc..
, then we really encourage you to join the Club. We feature many different events for players of all different skill levels to challenge, learn, and grow with each other. We have a great racquetball atmosphere so come to one of our weekly Club Hours to get a feel for what we're like.

Q: What's the difference between being an official Club Member and a non-member?
A: Being a Club Member gets you extra benefits that non-members do not get. For example, non-members have to pay entrance fees to any of our Club Tournaments that they play in or a separate registration fee to play in the year-long Ladder Tournament. Also, External clinics are only open to Club Members, as is discounted racquetball equipment. These are just some of the benefits that a Club Member has over a non-member.

Q: Can I go to CMU's courts and just play?
A: No. You need to be an affiliate of CMU (i.e. student, faculty, staff) in order to play in their racquetball courts. However, if you know someone that goes to CMU, he/she can sign you in as their guest and once you get a wristband from the UC sports desk, you can play. You also have the option of playing through Club Hours.

Q: What's the difference between Internal and External Coaching Clinics?
A: Internal Coaching Clinics are those run by our very own experienced Club Members whereas External Coaching Clinics are run by professional racquetball coaches. We have various clinics throughout the year, teaching players from the beginner to the advanced level. Internal Clinics are usually 3 or 4 hours long that covers video analysis, practice/drills, and then matches. External Clinics follow whatever agenda is set forth by the professional instructor.
