The Chicago trip is over, Career days is over, and we can all relax... for a bit. We're having a fresh new AIGA meeting next Thursday March 3rd at 6:00 p.m. in the Junior studio. We'll be thinking of new things to do for the rest of the semester, so come play!

Also, there is a Pittsburgh AIGA Happy Hour tomorrow from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in Bossa Nova, at 123 Seventh Street in the Cultural District). Go socialize, network (if you still have energy left over from the past two days), enjoy reduced drink specials and more!

AIGA/PGH 100 Show
February 10, 2005

Join us at Pittsburgh Filmmakers for the AIGA/PGH100 Show. The AIGA/PGH100 Show is a juried exhibition that spotlights the very best of Pittsburgh's graphic design advertising, interactive/multimedia and student work. This year's show will be held February 10, 2005 at Pittsburgh Filmmakers, 477 Melwood Avenue, Oakland. Doors open at 6:00 and the reception continues until 9:00.

Admissions Price:
AIGA Members: $25 Non-Members: $35
Student Members: $5 Student Non-Members: $10

Okay, this is gonna be a little bit of a long update, but it's got important stuff regarding the t-shirt contest and the Chicago trip.

The deadline for submitting your entry to the annual design t-shirt contest will be next Friday, January 21, at noon. All entries will be posted on our AIGA chapter website(I will give you the url when it is available) and voting will happen there so we don't have to have a long, drawn out, useless meeting.

Email your files to Tim or drop them off at the Design office.

The Chicago Trip

Here's the itinerary so far:
Thursday 2/3: Leave CMU at 4:30, arrive in Chicago that night.
Friday: Visit design firms.
Saturday and Sunday: Explore the city.
Monday: Visit more design firms and leave Chicago by 4:30pm arriving in Pittsburgh late that night.

The estimated overall cost for the trip is $125 per person which goes towards the hotel room. A $40 non-refundable deposit is due by next Wednesday, Jaunary 19th in the Design Office. The balance will be due Friday, January 28th. Below is a list of firms who have confirmed they want us to visit.

There will be a meeting on Thursday, Jan. 20th at 4:30 p.m. in the Junior CD Studio. This meeting will discuss itinerary, firms, roommates, fundraising ideas, the balance, the guidebook, etc. If you can come, please do or we'll stick you in a room with that smelly person you can't stand

Welcome back! As most of you have heard, AIGA is organizing a trip to Chicago to tour design studios. The date has been set for February 3 - 7. There will be a meeting this Wednesday the 12th at 4:30 in the Junior CD studio for those who are interested.
