What did attackers break into? - Files on about 30,000 computers that were affected.How did the attackers break into it? - The attackers broke in by using a peice of Malware known as Shamoon. Once connected to the network it made copies of itself and attached itslef to other computers that were also connected to the network. After it attached itself it wiped data that is on the computer.
Who was impacted? - Only the IT Services within RasGas were impacted, it had no impact on the extraction, distribution, and selling of gas.
How was it investigated? - Along with RasGas, other companies within the energy sector were impacted by this malware. It was found by Symantec, Kapersky lab, and Seculert. After they found similaties with Shamoon and another malware known as Flame. The group who created the malware is called "Cutting Swords of Justice" and took the responsibility for the attack.

How did the attackers break into it? - Using a VPN software the hackers scanned the website to find a vulnerability. They then downloaded malicious software. They then used this program to gain control of the network. They then published false information, which lead to a diplomatic conflict.
Who was impacted? - The entire state of Qatar.
How was it investigated? - The Minsitry of Interior had investigated the incident.
