Past Events

Amnesty International at CMU has been working on many projects advocating for the preservation of human rights and making the campus community and others aware of human rights violations in the US and abroad. During the fall semester of the 2011-2012 school year, we held a fundraising event to benefit the people affected by the devastating famine in the Horn of Africa. At this event, we had musicians, raffles, and more.

During Fall 2012, we held numerous events! We held a documentary showing and discussion of Into the Abyss about the death penalty in the United States. In addition, we held a cake pop sale where half of the proceeds went to the Heifer Foundation! We also held an event with LINK at West Wing where we discussed human trafficking and North Korea. We had a very successful semester and look forward to the Spring!
