About Me
I was born on October 18, 1982 in the city of Karachi, Pakistan. It was in this city where I spent the first 17 years of my life. I completed my primary education at The City School and went on to finish my Advanced Level degree with University of Cambridge Local Examination Syndicate at The Lyceum School. Since I was a child, much emphasis of my life has been on maintaning a sound balance between secular and social obligations. Hence, I find myself at the Heinz School of Public Policy to fuel my intellectual growth.
Career Goals
I believe that an inspiring leader is one who exudes passion at every stage of policy making. I am committed to combine my passion of arts and music with my passion for global change through sustainable economic development. Being a vocalist and composer myself, I want to reach out to remote areas to find the hidden talents and showcase their abilities to the world at large. Using the concepts of Micro finance and business with a social conscience, my goal is to help these artists earn a living from their own inherited skills. By creating this platform, otherwise economically challenged communities will benefit from modern technology, as well as first world profits. I foresee not only economic growth but a broader goal of cultural transparency and pluralism being achieved through this project. I believe that self expression and the recognition of human dignity will play a critical role in sustaining civil societies. I plan on achieving this goal through collaboration with the Aga Khan Development Network that already has years of functioning infrastructure in the rural areas of Africa and Asia.
