I'm a rising senior majoring in Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh PA. I'm expected to graduate with an additional major in Mathematics in May 2019. I endorse the beauty of both and enjoy their power in problem solving and creating things.
I'm proficient in Java, Python, C, SQL, and SML. I'm currently seeking fulltime position as a software engineer (product, infrastructure, analytics, mobile, security). And my additional interests are distributed systems, database, machine learning, and functional programming.

Work Experience

Software Engineering Intern

Bloomberg LP. | New York City, NY

- Built a subscription propensity machine learning model with Pyspark.mllib that can generate 10 million+ revenue/year.

- Worked with a team of nine to plan, design, select data with SQL on Google BigQuery, and compute features with PySpark on Google Cloud Datalab.

- Developed helper functions for the whole team to compute features, run models, and test model metrics in a more generic fashion that saved 12+ man hours/person/feature.

May 2018 - Aug 2018

Algorithms Development Intern

Unisound | Shanghai, China

- Developed a speech separation product through deep learning training in Tensorfow for speaker independent multi-talker speech separation. Github page

- Experimented with relevant machine learning algorithms (GAN Image Generation, Image Effect Transfer, SampleRNN, Guitar Sound Auto Gereration...) via Pytorch and CUDA on GPUs in Docker platform.

May 2017 - Aug 2017

Education Strategy Intern

Expii, Inc. | Pittsburgh, PA

- Headed a team of four in creating innovative problems for math courses on expii.com under supervision of Professor Po-shen Loh.

- Explored and designed various technologies to make teaching and learning more eficient and efective.

Sep 2017 – Dec 2017

Operation and Data Analyst Intern

Wallstreecn.com | Shanghai, China

- Installed Google Analytics tools to monitor and gather user data from website, phone app.

- Analyzed data with Pandas and Matplotlib to plan and present advertising budget investment accordingly.

- Refer to project Github page for more information.
Ingress at CMU
Hack112 2016 Best Design
- A python project built with flask and SQL that's similar to CMU verison of Ingress where users can 'capture' a CMU building by being close to its physical location.
Paint a Song
15112 Term Project
- A python project that lets you free doodle on a canvas and turn what you've drawn into music.
- Refer to this Youtube video for more information (fun).

Teaching

I value teaching as an important part of college life. It helps achieve mutual improvement between students and myself. And I'm interested in how technology can boost students' learning and save teachers' work.
15-210 Parallel and Sequential Data Structures and Algorithms (F17, S18)
15-150 Introduction to Functional Programming (S17)
School of Computer Science
- Helped in develoing and testing a secure autograding infrastructure to save 500+ man hours/year.
- Collaborated with other course staff to teach lab sections, created and reviewed assignments including homework and labs, conducted office hours, administered exams and answered students' questions.
21-122 Integration, Differential Equations, and Approximation (S17)
Department of Mathematical Science
- Prepared and conducted recitations, office hours, review sessions, and grading rubrics.
- Designed and implemented computer programs to help students visualize related mathematical process.
38-101 EUREKA: Discovery and Its Impact (F16)
Mellon College of Science
- Taught recitations that guides first year MCS students to better transition into college.
