Description:
TaoMasters is a strategy role-playing game, which is using Chinese Written Language as main feature in the game play.
It is not an education game, however, the players could also learn some Chinese language and culture
while enjoy in the game.
There are three main features of TaoMasters:
- We use existing Chinese written language as key elements in gameplay, players can understand the structure and origins of Chinese written language.
- This game have unique Chinese water ink style, and classical Chinese style music. We were mean to creating a full east Asia art style.
- The plot of story also introduce a lot of Chinese culture, including the ethics and ancient mysteries.
Considering for people who have never learned anything about Chinese written language, this game could be inaccessiable. Thus we created friendly and complete tutorial. Following the instruction text, Most players, according to the play testing, could understand and really enjoy this game.
Role and Responsibility:
I was the interface designer and programmer in this team. My job included designing the interface function and graphic layout ;coordinating the play testing; mockup and iterated the interface design; implementing the interface and debugging. The artists, Jy-Huey Lin and Yi-Jen Lin helped to create the 2D images art assets for user interface.
