Spring at the Gates Center

Snow is gone! Spring is here. It is March and a good month to pour more conrete and do lots of work.

Steel decks are placed, and levels over the parking lot are on progress.

The steel deck & conrete - the steel decks are placed like zigzag to solve the issue of drainage. Concrete will be poured on the decks later. Recently poured concrete has different color from the previously poured concrete. It is very tempting to leave a mark or step on the plastic concrete.

The beauty of the parking lot - It is dangerous to be under the construction space, but there is something beautiful about the dangerous area.

Memorable things from the site in March

The ramp from the Purnell center - on the columns, the ramp connecting the Gatec Center and the Purnell Center will be placed. It is ADA accessible, but it is going to be a long, difficult path for someone on a wheelchair.

The color coded materials - consturction workers do not have to memorize all the dimensins of the materials. They can set up the parts according to their colors.

The rebar caps - they prevent injuries for the workers from the rebars, and they look pretty good on the rebars.
