Physical, massing model for the Gates Center

Massing model indicagtes the sense of location of the Gates Center on the CMU campus and

the size of the building with respect to other buildings such as the Purnell Center and Hamburg Hall

The exterior, concrete wall condiion - Within the concrete walls, the parking lot spaces were already built.

It was the first time for me to explore the consructoin site and very exciting experience for an architecture major.

The container - the meeting space for our class and Andrew. Andrew and his colleagues discuss a lot of things that have impacts on the Gates Center.

The stiff, long ramp - not an easy access to the parking lot. Not ADA accessible.

The blanket - this protects the concrete floor from cold weather condition.
