I'D WALK FROM CORK TO LARNE TO SEE THE FORTY SHADES OF GREEN (1978)
A 320 mile, 14 day photographic walk based on song by Johnny Cash. Made into a poster.

A 320 mile, 14 day walk from Cork in the South West of Ireland to Larne in the North East of Ireland. The work turns a romantic song about Ireland by Johnny Cash into a real experience, which eschews the picturesque in favor of a more matter of fact depiction of greenness on a journey across Ireland. There is a political undercurrent in the work via the undefined crossing of the border between South and North (contested territory in 1979), which is then confirmed by the inclusion of a British soldier on patrol in the streets of Belfast.
