May 14, 1997. Joe, Per our agreement, here's the total for phase 2, up through 5/11. Thursday 5/1, 6:30 - 10:30, (4 hrs) Initial installation of NFS and NIS, configuration of server and clients. Saturday 5/3, 1:00 - 7:30, (6 1/2 hrs) Final NIS configuration, Printer setup, video conferencing testing (delayed till next phase due to problems) and installation of software on the machine which had been on loan to PGH Online. Sunday 5/4, 1:00 - 2:45 (1 3/4 hrs), Configured machine from Pgh Online to be replacement for Peter's machine (which has having problems) Monday 5/5, 6:10 - 7:10 (1 hr), Came in to fix printer configuration problem. Sunday 5/11, 9:00 - 3:00 (6 hrs), Verified software installation continuity on all machines, updated configuration of "spare" (formerly "peter"), installation and configuration of network card in PC, installation and testing of ssh on all SGI's, including Scott's (in Boston). Total for phase 2, continuity and interfacing, 19 1/4 hrs, @ $50/hr, $962.50 Since then, several small problems have come up. I don't have exact dates, but roughly: Week of 5/12, 2 hours, NTP configuration and debugging, and backup investigation. Week of 5/19, 1/4 hour, providing instructions on how to change host names. Week of 5/26, 1/4 hour, more NTP debugging. So, the current total is 21 3/4 hrs, @ $50/hr, $1087.50 David Nolan
