Overview
I was assigned to the Product and Engineering team specifically the Smart Data Mobile Team. On a sub-team with 3 other interns, I was tasked to handle the iOS UI of a new feature on the Smart Data app. This feature was Optical Character Recognition(OCR) and I was tasked with prefilling the information on the expense creation screen, as well as creating a new scan receipt screen.
Results
In the end our team successfully implemented the OCR receipt feature, consistent with the design of the app, and with 45% increase in user expense creation. We were able to pitch this to VPs, and Senior Engineers and they were very exciteed to see our progress and results!
