Topic Abstract
The concept of copyright has been around since Licensing Act of 1662 by Act of Parliament, which established a register of licensed books and required a copy to be deposited with the Stationer's Company. This attempted to regulate the copying of books in England. Copyright polices today are important for protecting the intellectual property of individuals and companies. There is some speculation that companies are controlling data even beyond the scope of the law. Also with the extent of information being shared today over the internet Copyright Policy is clearly a hot issue.
