Often there are classes held where the class gathers around a certain area of the room, incidentally there may be tables of students in that area who need some degree of personal space if they are working there. The space may need some sort of flexible arrangement that responds to this situation. This leads us to think of an object with an ambient display that shows that the person is in certain mood and also animates in some way to give the person more personal space.

In a restuarant, each group of people have a personal space, this can be reflected by the objects lighting condition and deployment.

In a public space the object may adapt to needs such as a surface to put a coffee cup on to or unfold a seat to sit on. It may offer some privacy for talking if there is too much noise.
