What did attackers break into?

The hackers broke into the bank’s database and stole 1.4 GB of private data. All the data was uploaded on a site called Cryptome.

How did the attackers break into it?

There’s very little information regarding how the attackers were able to breach the bank’s system; it could have been an external hack attack or an inside job.

Who was impacted?

The leaked data contained PII of the customers. This means that the hacker had access to a customer’s national identification number, social media links, card numbers, expiry dates, password and other personal details. The hack impacted the personal security of hundreds of individual and the banks credibility.

How was it investigated?

There is very little information about this. The bank released a statement saying that there was no financial impact and that they were investigating further into this

What did attackers break into?

The attackers were able to break into 30,000 of their computers.

How did the attackers break into it?

The attackers penetrated through their system using hacked systems and sending a malicious virus named Shamoon into their system.

Who was impacted?

30,000 of their computers were affected. All of the data on the machines were replaced with images of burning US flags.

How was it investigated?

There is very little information about this. A group called “Cutting Sword of Justice” claimed that they were the ones who hacked into the system, but it’s still not clear who was responsible for it.
