I'm a PhD candidate at the Department of Chemical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon university, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I completed by M.Tech. and B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, India. I did my schooling at St. Anne's High School in Pune, India. I am born and brought up in Pune, and spent a major part of my youth in Mumbai where I completed my undergraduate degree, and Pittsburgh where I am finishing my graduate studies.
My interests is mathematics and chemical engineering brought me to Carnegie Mellon University. I am a part of the Process System Engineering group at CMU. I am currently working with Prof. Nick Sahinidis on developing a computational tool to obtain 3D structural alignments of proteins. The project involves studying and developing novel optimization techniques and math programming methods. We have recently developed a novel structure alignment tool, SAS-Pro, which provides near-optimal sequential and non-sequential structure alignments. More details about my project are available in the projects section.
