sarah schipulI am a graduate student in Psychology at Carnegie Mellon University. I am studying under the guidance of Marcel Just in the Center for Cognitive Brain Imaging. I am investigating the neural basis of social cognition in autism, using fMRI. My current research project examines the ability of individuals with autism to judge faces and stories for trustworthiness. I am using fMRI to examine the brain activation and synchronization during these judgments.

I live in Pittsburgh, PA, in the neighborhood of Greenfield, with my boyfriend Sam and our dog Ruby. I grew up in Watertown, Connecticut. I attended Westover School in Middlebury, CT for high school, graduating in 2000. I received a BS in Cognitive Science from CMU in 2004, with a minor in Computer Science. I then worked at the Center for Cognitive Brain Imaging for 3 years as a research assistant, before starting the PhD program at CMU in the Fall of 2007.
