Click here to access professional webpage! I am an Information systems major at Carnegie Mellon Univesity. I completed my high school in Lahore, Pakistan. I can speak English and Urdu fluently, along with a little bit of French and Punjabi. My interest in computers and innovation sparked when I interned for Pakistan’s largest job employment startup, Rozee.pk. I was the youngest member of the Quality and Assurance team and ran system checks for bugs and errors. What intrigued me was that by simply implementing logics one could not only solve problems but produce desired movements on a screen. A few lines of code could be the source to control the largest of machines and real world applications. In addition to this, I realized that technology could be an effective tool to combat social issues such as unemployment observed at Rozee.pk. In the status quo the rapid pace at which technology is being developed there is a risk that artificially intelligent machines will outsmart us. This danger has culminated into a race between humans and machines for daily functionality. I see this as an opportunity. An opportunity to use Information Systems as a platform to integrate myself into the techno-world and incorporate machines to lessen the digital divide that exists and utilize them to take the economy towards a cycle of growth. So professionally I would like to learn relevant skills that I can apply in the real world to help solve issues that serve the greater good. For this, an institute like Carnegie Mellon provides the best ground to help achieve my career goals. In addition to this, after getting a degree I would also love to follow my interest and passion: theatre. If not side by side with a degree or a job I would at some point go to drama school and further my interest to someday act in Broadway or get a chance in Hollywood.
