Who is Randy Pausch?

Randy Pausch is a professor in computer science, human computer interaction, and design at carngie Mellon at the pittsburgh campus (google) He is the founder of the alice software, was the author and co-author of 5 books and wrote over 70 articles. He unfortunately succumbed to his pancreatic cancer at July 25, 2008.

5 points that i liked in his talk:

-His sense of humor e.g. when he gave an analogy of how long he had left to live "healthily" with disneyland closing early.

-Scheduling yourself, mentioning oppurtunity cost (because i did business for IGCSE) since time you waste will never come back, have to choose how to effectively spend it.

-People should start seeing time as a commodity, so that they don't waste it

-Four quadrant square, Priority: Due soon important > Due later important > Due soon unimportant > Due later not important. This + giving tips on how to manage time by planning, "Failing to plan is planning to fail", To-do list helps splits time and manage it more efficiently

-"Time is all we have, and you may find one day, you have less than you think" hit espcecially hard considering his situation
