| Father Al McGinnis came to St. Ann Parish in 1989. He is open to God and open to God working in lay people. Father Al, linking up with his old friend Lucy Moreno, took the first group of missionaries to Patzun in 1991. Father Al was my Pastor for 10 years. I love and respect him. Being away from St. Ann gives me perspective to see how brightly God's light shines in Father Al's Parish. St. Ann is a small, rural parish located in the extreme southwest cornner of Pennsylvania. |
| Above Father Al is offering mass outside. This happens a lot in Waynesburg. Below Padre is walking the alfombra built for Corpus Christi. Below is text Father Al read to his parish before walking the alfombra. |

Corpus Christi, the Body of Christ "… all of us whether Jews or Gentiles, whether slaves or free, have been baptized into one body by the same Spirit, and we have all been given the one Spirit to drink." 1 Corinthians 12:13 Good News Bible, Catholic Study Edition The many parts of the Body of Christ rise together today. This day, at this moment in Patzun Guatemala the Bishop of Solola (So - low -la) is leading a procession through rutted streets. Thousands will walk the alfombra (Al - foam -bra) behind him, first the priests and religious - then the laity. Travelling days by foot the faithful come to adore Jesus Christ present in the Eucharist, present in his body, his bride - the Church. Since before its incorporation as a Feast Day in 1246, the faithful have walked the decorated carpets in wonder of Jesus Christ, present in the Eucharist. First in Spain, later in Spanish America and now here, we walk the alfombra (Al - foam -bra) in adoration. Let this walk prepare us to send our missionaries; our brothers, our sisters, our mothers, our fathers and our children - to our brothers and sisters in Patzun |
