Cloud Computing

1. Cloud computing is the on-demand delivery of computing resources, like servers, data storage, networking capabilities, etc. It allowed for individuals and businesses to only pay for what they use without having to purchase the hardware.

2. Cloud computing allows for resource pooling (sharing files and IT resources across multiple users), multi-tenancy, which allows users of the same institution to share the same physical servers or infrastructure.

3. 3 major cloud service providers are Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Services.

4. 3 domains where cloud computing proved to be effective was e-commerce (where cloud computing allowed for scalability of demand, and global access to online stores), healthcare (secure data management for patient data as an example, allowed for remote patient monitoring) and education (proven by us using cloud computing when using and sharing Google Drive files, it allows for collaboration and accessibility.)

5. Infrastructure as a service (IaaS) delivers on-demand access to cloud-hosted compute, storage and networking, so it provides infrastucture. Platform as a servide (PaaS) provides a complete on-demand cloud platform (hardware, software and infrastructure) for developing, running, maintaining and managing applications, so it provides the platform where you could essentially dump all your work in. Software as a service (SaaS) provides cloud-hosted application software delivered over the internet to compatible computing devices, so there's no need for download like regular software; just log-in and use.
