Research Topic Abstract

Privacy on the internet is primarily a person's own responsibility, but there are some inevitable occurences of privacy invasions. Sharing too much information can lead to dangerous situations, so it is important to understand the consequences for disclosing information about themselves on the internet. Some social networking websites and other website tools, such as Facebook or Google Street Maps, have taken measures to ensure the protection of privacy. Between social networking sites and online scams that use phishing exercises to defraud a person of financial information, privacy is essentially hindered due to those who are adept at hacking into websites to steal personal information.
