About Me:
I grew up in a small town in Southeastern Connecticut, called Waterford. In Waterford I attended the local public high school. I enjoyed our close proximity to the Long Island Sound and the atmosphere of small town life. After high school, I didn’t go far, attending Connecticut College in New London, Connecticut (next town over). At Conn College I was an Architectural Studies Major and thoroughly enjoyed my time at Conn. It was a great place, full of great people and professors. After graduating in 2001 I decided that I might like to explore a career in the field of Architecture. I moved to Boston and began work with the Architectural firm of Kallmann McKinnell and Wood, Inc. After a few months as an Architectural Intern I realized that I did not want to become an architect and I was more interested in the business of architecture, than the practice. I moved into a marketing position in the firm and began my career in the “Business of Architecture”. Over the next six years I worked for several different firms in the design and construction industry. Most recently I was the Director of Marketing for Copley Wolff Design Group (CWDG), Boston, Massachusetts. Through my interaction with CWDG’s clients I realized that my real interests were in the commercial real estate industry. I realized I did not have the quantitative skill set to enter the industry so after two and one-half years with CWDG I decided to return to Graduate School at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Here at CMU I am a candidate for a Masters in Public Policy and Management at the Heinz School. At CMU I am acquiring the quantitative skills that will prepare me for a career in Commercial Real Estate Development. I am focusing my studies in the areas of finance and management.
