Biography
My name is Melanie Thompson, and I am in the MAPW program. I received my BA from West Virginia State University. While at WVSU, I was the on the Dean’s List every semester and received the award for Scholastic Distinction in the English Department. I was elected president of Sigma Tau Delta, the international English honor society and was appointed president of Alpha Mu Gamma, the national foreign language honor society. I also belonged to Alpha Kappa Mu, the national honor society. I contributed to and edited WVSU’s annual publication, The Kanawha Review, during my junior and senior years. I currently edit a website that is still in the developmental stages. I have a beautiful daughter and a wonderful husband. To stay sane, I enjoy painting and writing poetry.
