Randy Pausch

Who is Randy Pausch?
Randy Pausch was a Computer Science professor in Carnegie Mellon University, as well as being an alumnus from said university. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and was told he only had 3-6 months to live. He fought hard against it but sadly passed away at the age of 47.

What was he known for?
He became known for delivering a lecture, which would later be called “The Last Lecture”. In it, he talks about the importance of overcoming obstacles, and taking advantage of every waking moment to achieve one’s dream.
“We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand.”
--Randy Pausch

5 points that I liked in his talk:
1. Prioritizing time, because you can’t ever get it back.
2. Don’t focus on doing things right, focus on doing the right things.
3. Your email inbox is not your “To-do list”.
4. All you have to do is ask, and wonderful things will happen.
5. Don’t give people how you want them to do it, tell them what you want them to do.
