Growing up, I have idolized my father and wanted to be a doctor like him. It was his influence that taught me the values of public service from a very early age and as a result I have participated in numerous social and community based projects in my home country, Bangladesh . My life’s priority became helping the poor and rural people in my nation and aiding them to lead a better life. However, during my secondary school years, I began realizing my penchant towards studies related to computers than towards any other subject. The more I learned about technology, the more I felt disturbed. While for several years I was torn between my passion and values instilled in me, only recently have I found a way to merge the two. I would like to devote my long-term career on creating information systems based technological ventures focused on improving the rural areas in Bangladesh and thus follow my life’s priority of helping the underprivileged people in my country. For this I need to be educated with world class knowledge on information systems. So, after much deliberation, I had finally decided to pursue a major in Information Systems and a possible minor in Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University which is one of the top universities in the whole world. I plan to follow my education with leadership development and information systems related skills development so that I can shape myself perfect for my life’s priority.
