Want to make a movie, but unsure how to get started? You'll have to take a lot of things into consideration before you begin filming, including the tools you'll use to make and the edit your movie. Before you even think of editing a movie, however, you'll need a screenplay and a cast.
When you film a movie, you can either use someone else's screenplay or you can write your own. Whatever you decide to do, you should choose your screenplay with care. The screenplay you use not only sets the plot of the movie, but also determines the size of your cast and where you film. If you have a low (or non-existent) budget, you shouldn't write a screenplay about galactic battles in outer space, you should stay within your means!
When using someone else's screenplay, be sure you have the right to do so. Enter into an agreement with the writer and sign a contract that will protect you from claims of copyright infringement.
