About me

I'm Mee Jung Oh and was born in Busan, South Korea. I grow up in there until middle school, then came to United State for my education. Worcester Academy is my high school where I spent my first four years. During my high school, I was elected as one of board of monitors who represent international students. I also created international club to better serve student body. After my high school, I came to Carnegie Mellon University to study business administration. Currently, I’m a senior at undergraduate Tepper school of business and first year at Heinz School for the Master of Science in Health Care Policy and Management (HCPM) program.

Career goals

I am a long-time activist and grew up in a family that has a long history in medical field. My family’s work inspired me to learn more about what goes into running a hospital. My name is Leah Oh, first year in the Master of Science in Health Care Policy and Management (HCPM) program in the Heinz School. Last summer, I learned a great deal about what goes into running a hospital by working at two hospitals. I was eager to learn how hospitals operate and experienced working in such an environment. I have worked at the UPMC-Shadyside serving as a Patient relations department staff assistant. My duties were to assist in research and projects, maintain and update new data with Word Software, organize presentation schedule for senior staffs, and design their PowerPoint and much more. I have also worked at Goo-Duck Hospital located in Busan, Korea. I served as Administration Assistant. My duties were to record patient’s medical history and register patients, make daily rounds with the attending physicians and residents, transcribe medical dictation, schedule and other routine front office tasks. With my work experience and knowledge that I gain from HCPM, I wish to become a strong leader in the field of health care and hospital administration.
