Kee Teppa of the Golden Gate Park Squirrels was  first animal to break the communication barrier between humans and the rest of the animal kingdom, and the first recognized prophet of Feranimism. On May 2nd, 1997, Kee Teppa's noble spirit made contact with that of Mary Spencer, and the era of enlightenment began. Mary had many insightful conversations with the squirrel, and later recorded them in her remarkable volume that came to be known as the Revelations of Kee Teppa.

Unfortunately, despite our best efforts to preserve it, a large portion of the sacred text was destroyed in a conflagration started by blasphemous ruffians at San Francisco's Ocean Beach on November 12th, 1998, not long after Feranimists of America had been established. Law enforcement took minimal action to investigate the cause, and the criminals were never brought to justice.

The following documents are recovered selections from the Revelations of Kee Teppa:

“…And the squirrel came to me, eyes aglow with recognition, and revealed unto me in her eloquent tongue these noble truths that had eluded humans for so long:

“Trust the animal within. The animal is the way. He exists in everyone, revealing himself to only the select few who are capable of seeing through the Krrk, the veil of human 'civilization' that has incorrectly led the human race to believe that it is superior to the rest of the animal kingdom. Find and release your animal spirit and you too will be released from the constraints of physical being.”

“…Live in natural communion with nature. Do not be consumed by the meaningless rituals of everyday human existence. The life beyond consumption and human possessions is greater than the unenlightened can imagine. Embrace nature’s womb from which you and all animals emerged long ago.”

“…Bodies are temporary; spirits live forever. Therefore, do not attempt to preserve your physical form, as humans have done for so long. In doing so you will break the circle of life. The human race remains the only species that can truly be deemed a consumer, for unlike the carnivorous fox and lion, omnivorous humans disrupt the natural processes of decomposition that feed the ecosystems and the animals they once fed upon. There is, therefore, no proper compensation for the lives of those consumed by humans. This circumstance has created a great imbalance on Earth, which is apparent in the human domination of the entire planet for the past six millennia.”

“…Bury your dead without the use of the enormous wooden boxes with which you insist upon occupying the soil and denying the natural decomposers their rightful sustenance. When someone dies, simply leave the body with no barrier to impede its communion with the soil. Neither shall you burn the dead or douse them with substances to preserve their visage…”

“Do not eat the animals of the kingdom. Why would you eat your own brother? Do you not share the same water? Do you not share the same air? Are you not of one family? You bleed the same blood. You are of the same flesh. You live in the same Kingdom. You must know that your spirits are the same.”

"...While the fox or the bear eats other animals, he also does nothing in preventing the complete decomposition of his body after he dies; he does not embalm his dead brothers, nor does he encase their bodies in wooden boxes. And so, through the natural replenishment that his body supplies the earth, he is adequate in his compensation to those he has killed in his lifetime."

"...Humans are not meant to consume flesh. Look at your teeth. Are they like the fangs of a dog or a fox? Do your canines protrude  inches above your molars? Or are your teeth not more akin to the flat molars of a horse? I say to you then, eat what you were meant to consume. Have you not, through the vast expanse of technology in your species, been able to cultivate and domesticate an abundance of plants and fruit? Why then end the life of another when your existence is not even threatened?"
