Sunday, October 8th, 2006: Vegetarian Film Festival: The Feranimist Debate Continues: This is the only film festival that Feranimists of America officially condones, although many Feranimists still believe that the occurrence of any festival, regardless of how “vegetarian” it claims to be, is still debilitating to the environment and, therefore, to the animals these so called vegetarians are trying to protect. Scientists in Kangaroo Island, Australia are hoping to cut down the koala population (which they claim to be around 28,000) by implementing a contraceptive device that will be shot under the koala’s skin using a dart. So, not only is the idea of forcing birth control on family oriented marsupials—who want nothing more than to procreate—unethical, but the violent way in which the contraceptive is employed is immoral as well. How would those scientists feel if we hid in bushes with dart guns and took away their ability to reproduce? FoA is currently working out the logistics of such a procedure. The event, which turned out some 450 participants and 1,000 spectators, involved dressing aggravated pets in restricting and embarrassing outfits to imitate ridiculous humanistic personalities. We are currently in the process of sending letters of our disapproval to the sponsors of the event, the Broadway Merchants Association, the Daily Journal, and the so-called Humane Society of the Peninsula. Max, a beloved elderly African Elephant, was recently released from his prison, in which he was forced to perform inane tasks for his captors’ amusement. Max was one of several elephants in the Sydney Circus to have reportedly been injured while captive. Now, fortunately, his days of meaningless labor are over. This is a day of celebration for Feranimists, as another animal has been saved from humanly harm. The terrorist was exposed by an undercover investigation performed by the Sunday Times. We salute you, canine defenders! This article is beginning to address some of the key issues that our establishment hopes to tap into: NO ONE belongs in a zoo. To see photos of the performance visit our Photos Page. Thursday, March 9th, 2006: US Fears Spread of Avian Flu: While the scientists plan on dramatically increasing the number birds screened for bird flu, it is very clear that Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff and the rest of the US government are concerned with human infection, not with the protection of the US avian population. What about the inconvenience a chicken experiences when it is methodically slaughtered by a machine? Sunday, January 8th, 2006: PETA Awards Evil Scientist For Murdering Mice “Humanely.” Dr. Nigel Binns recently received PETA’s Person of the Year Award for creating a mousetrap that uses carbon dioxide to “painlessly” kill our innocent rodent friends. Last time we checked, using gas chambers for mass genocide was called the Holocaust. Murder is never humane; PETA has gone astray. We will be planting Douglas fir and red cedars throughout the city and have a vegan feast following the completion our hard work. Planting will begin at around 10 am and the potluck will take place at 6 pm. Remember to bring your own shovel! The performance was followed by vegan snacks and sing alongs. Check out the pictures our Photos Page. Monday, September 19th, 2005: PETA Activists Arrested in Peoria, IL. Even though we typically regard PETA as uncommitted Feranimists, the noble actions of Eric Deardorff, 24, and Melissa Sehgal, 28, were enough to warrant our appreciation. The two posed naked in a grocery store, wrapped inside an oversized meat package with a sign saying, "Only cannibals eat animals. Go vegetarian." Good going, kids! Of course! They can succeed through Feranimism! The authors of this article, Frank L. and Mary T. Hoffman, however, remain completely unaware of the Feranimist movement and maintain that the animal rights movement needs the support of institutionalized religion. We have recently sent them a pamphlet about our organization. Because we believe that the animal rights movement needs spiritual principles to be successful, we applaud the authors for their efforts.
