    My overarching research interest is using mathematical modeling to inform renewable power integration and electricity system planning. I develop and advance power system optimization models to better understand the effect of renewable energy policies (e.g. renewable portfolio standards (RPS), renewable energy credits (RECs), etc.) on both the physical electricity system and electricity markets. I also develop predictive models to both complement, and better inform, power system modelling for renewable energy integration. Current research projects in this area include models to predict spatially diverse but temporally coincidental wind-droughts, and power outages from thunderstorms.
