[Short Vita]

As of September 2011, I am a postdoctoral fellow at the Robotics Institute of Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA. I am a member of the Component Analysis Lab. where I am working on component analysis methods for unsupervised learning. I finished my Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering in Dec. 2011 from the Centre of Intelligent Machines at McGill University, Montréal, Canada, under the supervision of Prof. Frank Ferrie.

[Research]

I am broadly interested in the design and analysis of learning algorithms for pattern analysis and recognition.

Research Interests

Machine Learning: Algorithms for classification, clustering, dimensionality reduction, discriminant analysis, metric and manifold learning. Component analysis methods, kernel methods, generative/discriminative models, information Theory (and its geometric counterpart), and optimization.

Applications: Video Analysis, Peptide Detection and Modeling, Document Analysis & Recognition, Offline/Online Handwriting Recognition.
