Edward Mitchell Lewis, born in Virginia on 7 January 1861, was a brick layer by profession. His father, William Lewis, and also his mother were from Virginia. He married Minnie Wilcox White on 7 January 1925, and died 25 May 1929 and is said to be buried at Seven Mile Ford, Virginia.
