Five nights a week we go to the "mess hall" which was designed by Ann Hamilton (a wood fired pizza oven and a ceramic free standing fire place.) Lori, prepares incredible meals, always an event. It's like going to a dinner party every night because all of the resident artists are expected to show up. One night Lori arranged a picnic on the beach to watch the sun set. Last night after the opening she had a buffet of roast chicken with garlic and thyme, potato pancakes, sautéed green beans and wild mushrooms. For desert poached peaches with fresh raspberries and whipped marscapone cheese. Yes, I am in California! I thought I would loose a few pounds while here, but now I know the issue will be maintaining.
