Yuri bought a book called HOW I WROTE CERTAIN OF MY BOOKS, which I
thought was a hysterical and overly lofty title. Yuri is into Duchamp,
and this writer influenced Duchamp. Yuri is a conceptual artist and has
had much of his work published in books on Russian Conceptual Art. He is
funny and has a severe intellectual side. Patrik on the other hand is growing
up an inch at a time on his first trip "abroad." He is twenty five and
I thought he just needed a bit of independence. He lives in a typical situation
in Eastern Europe. His entire family lives together in the same apartment.
He never had to cook his own food before he came here. |

When we were looking
for a place to eat he said, "I want to sit down and tell them what I want
and have them bring it to me." But in the search for such a place that
also served hamburgers, another qualification, we ended up at Bongo Burger,
a Greek semi-cafeteria style burger joint. I had the giant bongo burger
which was giant with fries and tea. Yuri had the Persian burger and Patrik
the shish-ka-bob burger. Patrik ordered his own food and got up to get
it when they called his number. The past couple times we have been out
he asked me what I was ordering then ordered the exact same thing. |
