We were to follow Volker to the Hotel Utah. His driving technique consisted of running red lights making lefts where there are signs that say no left turn and basically zigzagging through traffic. It was quit a thrill. We heard a group called Red Meat which was true Country Western, rockin' music with all the lyrics directly from a creative country mind. Lines like "a baby needs a Momma so we'll put aside this little drama" and "I'm in love with the girl with the big hair and the long fingernails." The lead singer had a belt buckle with enamel pictures of his two best friends on it, Jesus and Mary. I was transported. |
