There are people way at the other end of this beach, they must know where there is an easier path. Walking toward them there is a horrible smell. I can't figure out what it is. I keep looking at the sand and all I see is occasional seaweed. Can this seaweed be rotting and smelling that bad? The Bad smell suddenly stops and everyone is up wind of it. There is a guy standing on a rock looking out so I go up to him and explain how I got to this beach and ask him if there is an easier path. He tells me to go back up the beach and there is a path by the rotting whale. I said "Rotting Whale!" He said, "yea, it's been there a couple of months and when it stinks really bad you're down wind of it." So this thing that I thought was a big rock was a whale that had died and beached itself. It looked like a gigantic sagging bloated moldy balloon and smelled worse than it looked. There was a path there though. It was just as steep but it was wide, there were wooden steps built into the hill and a port-a-let, so it was considerably easier to get back.
