I drove home from the Post Office on the one way road. This is a road that winds high up on the hill behind the house and hangs on the top of the cliffs high above the water. When you enter the one way road you are right at the top of the hill, you can see the car hood and an endless ocean but no road. If you believe there is a road there, when your hood comes down there is a narrow concrete path a low guard rail and miles of empty space up and down and out on the side. It is my favorite road. It starts next to the fire road that leads to the summit of Hawk Hill, there is a turn-a-round where the picture takers who have ventured this far to get yet another shot of the bridge turn around. All of these roads, even the two way road that leads to Hawk Hill are closed at dusk. But the one way road, when you go over the top of it, even though you have to go slow is a sensation better than any roller coaster.
