1.b The image processing operator we just applied is blurring.

1.c Once we blur an image, we have lost information. Since the values in each cell are simply averaged numbers of the surrounding pixels, and have no additional information, there is not enough information to recreate the original image.

2. Using the relationship h/h' = d/f where h = 12.5in, h' = 20pixels, f = 0.5 in, and d = distance between martian and Pathfinder, we can calculate d.
