Current Projects

Measuring Vulnerability to Cascading Failures in Electric Power Systems - This project focuses on modeling statistical behaviors of cascading failures in large-scale power systems; these models are used 1) to devise online metrics for the risk of cascading failures in power systems and 2) to recognize key factors contributing to cascade-induced system collapse.	Resist Blackouts by Revisiting System Protection Design - Traditional system protection is designated to resist a given set of configurations. The consequence of unexpected events may be catastrophic to the integrity of power systems. We are seeking alternatives to design system protection in order to resist large power blackouts.
Wide-Area Sensing with Sparse Prior- We are interested in detecting system structure disturbances by a small group of wide-area fast sensors.
