CFD of contamination in near field (optical) recording (NFR)
A decade after Blue-ray, the next-generation of optical recording drives may be near field recording (NFR). Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling is being used to optimize the design of their solid immersion lens (SIL) to be robust against particle contamination.
