Summary: Cloud computing is computation on servers. Then the result is delivered to the user through Internet. This computation can be in the form of using application, cloud storage, data analysis and even neural network training. Many big technology companies with huge servers offer this as their services, and nowadays this is becoming an increasing part of the services they offer. Some examples include Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Service (known as AWS), and the multitude of service that Google offer. Amazon Web Service is especially notable, since many companies’ websites and applications are hosted on AWS. Not long ago, Netflix, Spotify, BuzzFeed, Pinterest, and thousands of other small websites suddenly all became inaccessible. People started to freak out and thought the whole Internet was down, but what actually happened is that those websites are all hosted on AWS and AWS had some issues that day. It comes to show that how prevalent AWS service and cloud computing is a very integral part of our lives nowadays.
